About the event

We are excited to announce the OKMHCA will host the OKMHCA Winter Conference 2021 in person and virtually! Mr. Derek Talkington will present a

series entitled Soul Revival: The Ethics of Self Care in a Self-Less Profession

7 total CEU's (3 ethics, 3 supervision, and 1 general) will be offered for both in-person and online attendees.

About the speaker: Derek Talkington is a licensed addiction and mental health therapist in

Oklahoma. He is a skilled program director and clinician with experience in various outpatient

and residential addiction treatment centers. Derek is founder of Blackbird Cooperative, a premier

community development organization in Oklahoma City, operates a successful therapy practice

and hosts The Chasing Sanity podcast. Derek is an innovative leader in behavioral health care by

providing high quality clinical treatment for individuals and families, enhancing collaboration

and care coordination through professional consultation and training, and working to fight the

dangerous stigma facing our loved ones with targeted community development efforts.

About the coordinator: Kyearra Morris was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK. After

graduating from the University of Central Oklahoma with her BA in Mass Communications &

minor in Marketing & Business, Kyearra pursued her MBA at the University of Oklahoma. She

has over 15 years of experience in Marketing & Business Development, with the past 8 years

being dedicated specifically to the addiction and recovery industry. Founder of AMP Resources,

an organization that is devoted to connecting professional resources for substance abuse and

mental health with those who struggle and their families. Kyearra has been with Stonegate since

2017 and has contributed to helping countless individuals and families get their lives back. She

serves with a compassionate heart and truly has a passion for helping others. Kyearra believes

she is fulfilling her true calling. Her ultimate goal is to help others in as many ways as she is

called to, by providing support & guidance in the process of finding help & trusted resources for

those who are in need and their loved ones. Kyearra loves her career, playing softball,

volunteering for several nonprofits, spending time with her lovely family and is an avid

University of Oklahoma sports fan. Boomer Sooner!
